At the end of 2018, the Federation of Croatian Campsites (Kuh) became part of the Tourism4all project, within the framework of the Interreg Italy – Croatia programme, together with another 13 partners from Italy and Croatia. The project has recently resulted in a new area within a Valamar group campsite, Brioni Sunny Camping, where two accessible mobile homes have been installed that will be used for activity presentations, training and study trips, all with the aim of promoting sustainable and accessible tourism suitable for various user groups, not exclusively for people with disabilities or reduced mobility.

The objective that the Kuh, together with the Tourism4all protect partners, sets itself with this initiative is to create a wide network of accessible tourist destinations in Croatia, so as to promote social inclusion and make it possible to expand the offer with the aim of extending the seasonal opening of campsites. This will also be achieved by sharing best practices among the parties involved in the project and the camping villages, and jointly promoting tourist services for people with specific needs in addition to the presence of suitable accommodations in the facilities.

TheTourism4all project represents an evolution in the collaboration between the Federation of Croatian Campsites (Kuh) and the Village4All Association, started with the support of the Croatian Ministry of Tourism two years ago.

In particular, the mobile homes installed at Brioni Sunny Camping of the Valamar group are made by us, in the CrippaConcept production centre in Višnjan in Croatia. The size is 8.3m x 4m, they are specially made to meet the needs of people with disabilities or reduced mobility, with 2 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms, terrace and ramps to facilitate access.

Compared to classic mobile homes, these meet the following specific requirements:

  • External access ramp with a gradient of 6.9%,
  • 90 cm wide entrance door, without threshold
  • Minimum width of the internal door 75/80 cm
  • Main bathroom: floor level shower tray, shower seat, adapted toilet with handles, alarm, washbasin specially positioned for ease of use
  • Open space under the sink in the kitchen, for ease of use
  • Lower electric switches
  • Large living room to facilitate movement
  • Bedroom with easily accessible double bed
  • Double room that can be adapted to specific needs

As manufacturers and suppliers of these types of mobile homes, we are very proud to have been involved in this project and we would like to congratulate the promoters and facilities that have chosen to take part.
